So, I suppose I should make a couple of New Year's resolutions to give myself a kick up the backside. And if you see me breaking them, feel free to add a boot to that.
Last year, I said I'd publish a book and buy a ridiculous car, and I managed both of those – three books, in fact (Trouble in Paradise, Twisted, and Pitch Black), and in a mad moment my bank account didn't thank me for, I bought an Aston Martin.
This year, I'll split my intentions into two parts, writing and non-writing.
Writing:
I need to slow down on the writing front. In 2015, I drafted seven novels, a novelette and a collection of short stories, but other things fell by the wayside as I did it. 2016 needs to be my editing year. I have fourteen novels that need editing!
Goals
Publish at least four books – Oxygen, Trouble Rides Again and Gold Rush, and I'm open to suggestions on what people would like to see next.
Draft four novels – Trouble #4, Blackwood Security #10, Blackwood UK #3, plus one other.
Life in general:
I haven't stayed as fit as I'd have liked, or travelled much. So in 2016, I need to get out more, and I also need to stay in touch with friends – I'm terrible at that.
Goals
Exercise at least three times a week.
Visit at least one new city.
Catch up with the people I care about in person at least once every three months.
Good luck! Which city would you like to visit? Any plans for a book tour?
There are too many places I’d like to visit – Richmond, New York and Cairo are high on the list. Realistically, I’ll probably get as far as Europe, plus a trip to Egypt as long as the airport’s open again…
And no plans for a book tour, unfortunately, but I’ll be running some giveaways for signed books.
Why don’t you try visiting Asia, because I’m planning on doing a tour to Europe. You know, like a complete different change of place and people.
Asia is exotic, but you will learn many things. Specially experience a whole different world, it can help you inspire a new lot of people.
Just a suggestion!
My new year resolution is to be selfish. To improve myself to a better version, both physically and mentally. that’s just a sum up.
I’d love to go to Asia! There are so many beautiful places there. I only wish it wasn’t so far away 🙁
I did the selfish thing this year, because I wanted to write – it’s meant I’ve got a lot of books drafted, but next year I need to venture out of the house more…
I have four resolutions for this year:
-Get into uni (the easier one)
-Go completely vegan by the end of the year.
-Get fitter and run a 5k every other weekend after September (parkruns)
-Finish a book (this will be the tricky one)
I’d find your tricky one the easy one! I really need to get fitter…
